Hybrid car market is still not as good as a conventional car market. But in a few years we can be sure hybrid car market with a double engine will be progressively increased. Many car manufactures have started to glance at this market with a variety of considerations including the depletion of oil reserves and the issue of environmental pollution caused by conventional cars.
Mercury as a division of Ford Motor Company also recently released version of 2010 Mercury Milan hybrid car. Milan’s own generation was first released in 2005 as a replacement of Mercury Mystique and Mercury Sable which stopped its production. During its development, this car was eventually created a hybrid version in hopes it can come to compete with Japanese manufacturers began to invade car market with hybrid car products.
In terms of design, classic and luxurious are two most appropriate words to describe a Mercury Milan. Size of Mercury Milan is large enough so that passengers would not be too crowded. The main machine used was a sixteen-valve DOHC engine with a capacity of 2.5 liter which can generate power equal to 156 horsepower while the second machine is an electric motor can generate power equal to 106 horsepower. The total power generated by two engines of Mercury Milan is equal to 191 horsepower, enough to pull this hybrid car up to speed of 175 km per hour.
The time needed to reach the speed of this hybrid car 100 km an hour just about 8.5 seconds, not too fast but it’s not the point. These hybrid cars designed to save fuel. Statistics from car manufacture states that this hybrid car only consumes about one liter of fuel for 17.5 km when used in the city and is only able to reach the 15 km distance for one liter when used on the highway.
Based on reports from the Institute for Highway Safety, Mercury Milan is one of the safest cars like Subaru Impreza, Audi A6, 2007 Lincoln MKX, and others.
