Heat of Car Exhaust, a new power of Hybrid Cars
The growth of environmentally friendly cars today, like hybrid cars, needs a development of its spare parts that can support hybrid cars itself. One of the technologies that are still in the research and expected to be used commercially is to transform the heat of car exhaust. Heat from car exhaust is now being expanded to become electric.
Electrical energy derived from heat of car exhaust is stored or used directly for these hybrid cars. Even on cars that still use conventional engine or motor fuel, is directly used as fuel to operate the audio, air conditioning and other equipment.
Currently, heat of car exhaust is wasted through car engine and not been widely used.
The system uses a mixture of metal (alloy), which is called “shape memory alloy” (SMA). With this concept is expected to immediately go to the prototype stage that can generate electricity.
SMA like a cable, if it heated, there was an expansion process. When cold, stiffness of cable will be reduced and back into its shape. Changing of cable roll is physically will be used to drive an electric generator and can be used for filling the battery.
Electric power generated from heat of car exhaust, can be used as a source to drive hybrid cars. Even for conventional engines – motor fuel – used as an alternator. So, you do not need to charge your car engine for power output.
